Jane Meredith
Delighting readers and audiences of all ages!
Author Jane Meredith began her life in Norfolk, Virginia, but proceeded to gallivant around the country following her dream of dancing ballet professionally. Life in tutus, tiaras, and toe shoes suited her perfectly. Upon her retirement from the stage, she pursued many wonderful dance teaching positions. She loves children and young adults, and working with them is nothing less than pure joy.
When she directed her school, she wrote stories that were turned into ballets. From a girl who lost her locket to bunnies and bumblebees at a picnic, dancers lived these fantastical adventures through performance. In writing these stories and ballets, she happened upon another gateway to bliss—writing children’s chapter and middle grade books.
Her first series includes three works based on the adventures of Rena, a Chilean girl, and her younger brother, Zachy. They tear around the hills, the seaside, and the bodega chasing a mysterious caballo (horse), a pink surfboard, and missing cat food.
Her newest creation is a middle grade book, THE FEATHER BOX OF DREAMS. Because dreaming is good, and even better with a feather.
She is a happy mother and grandmother, and she lives with her most wonderful husband of many, many years in Texas.
And, she still teaches ballet! It never gets old.
